Femap/WeldFEM Configuration Porblem

There are discrepancies between the FE-model and the WeldFEM-model!

Cause

There can be different causes for this error message. The most probable cause is that the FE-model has been modified after WeldFEMs weld detection.

Solution

The FE-model and the WeldFEM-model do not match, thus the current assessment is corrupted. Please start the assessment over again or load an older WeldFEM-Project-File (.wfp-file).

Consequence If Ignored

A weld assessment is not possible, because the FE-model and the WeldFEM-model have discrepancies.

Save/Load Problem

The Femap file 'FILE_NAME.modfem' is missing!
Expected directory: "DIRECTORY"

Cause

The Femap file (.modfem-file) that is referenced by the WeldFEM-Project file (.wfp-file) is missing, has been renamed or moved to another directory.

Solution

Make sure the missing Femap file was not renamed and is located in the expected directory.

Consequence If Ignored

The saved weld assessment cannot be loaded correctly. Therefore, a further weld assessment is not possible.

WeldFEM-Project file can't be loaded!
The WeldFEM-Project file and the Femap file do not match.

Cause

The Femap file (.modfem-file) has been manipulated after saving the WeldFEM-Project file (.wfp-file).

Solution

Make sure the Femap file (.modfem-file) was not manipulated

Consequence If Ignored

The saved weld assessment cannot be loaded correctly. Therefore, a further weld assessment is not possible.

File name is not allowed!
The file name must start with 'WF_'.

Cause

When saving a WeldFEM-Project file (.wfp-file) it has to include 'WF_' in the beginning of the title!

Solution

Make sure the title of the WeldFEM-Project file starts with 'WF_'.

Consequence If Ignored

WeldFEM-Project file (.wfp-file) cannot be saved.

File name is not allowed!
The file name must end with '_###'.

Cause

When saving a WeldFEM-Project file (.wfp-file) it has to include a three digit number in the form of '_###' at the end of the title.

Solution

Make sure the title of the WeldFEM-Project file end with '_###'.

Consequence If Ignored

WeldFEM-Project file (.wfp-file) cannot be saved.

File name is not allowed!
The file name must end with '_001' to '_999'.

Cause

When saving a WeldFEM-Project file (.wfp-file) it has to include a three digit number in the form of '_###' at the end of the title.

Solution

Make sure the title of the WeldFEM-Project file end with a three digit number between '_001' and '_999'.

Consequence If Ignored

WeldFEM-Project file (.wfp-file) cannot be saved.

The file already exists!
Please select another file name.

Cause

WeldFEM does not allow to replace an already save WeldFEM-Project file (.wfp).

Solution

Please use a new unique title for saving a WeldFEM project.

Consequence If Ignored

WeldFEM-Project file (.wfp-file) cannot be saved.

Editing Problem

User defined cross section value is below 0.5 mm!
Value changed to 0.5 mm.

Cause

The overall minimum cross section in WeldFEM is 0.5 mm.

Solution

Consequence If Ignored

The change of weld settings cannot be applied if the entry value for the user defined cross section is below 0.5 mm.

User defined cross section value is larger than t_min!
Value changed to t_min.

Cause

The maximum cross section for corner welds has been reached acc. to DIN EN 15085.

Solution

The change of weld settings cannot be applied if the entry value for the user defined cross section is larger than t_min.

User defined cross section value is larger than 0.8 * t_min!
Value changed to 0.8 * t_min.

Cause

The maximum cross section for HY- and Y-welds has been reached acc. to DIN EN 15085.
