When simulating a structure with a FE-analyses a consistent unit system has to be set up. If the unit system is not consistent, wrong results will be calculated.

The consistent unit system can be set up differently. Since the calculations performed by WeldFEM are done in the system (t, mm, s, N) any other system used for the FE-model needs a conversion of units in order to assess the welds correctly.


The conversion of units takes places after WeldFEM extracts the stresses and geometry information. For that the user needs to define the units used for the FE-model in the Calculation GUI. If this setting is not set up correctly the results calculated by WeldFEM will be wrong as well.
